Use graphite, charcoal, oil and chalk pastels, watercolor and/or acrylic paints. Repeat this camp more than once for the ultimate in solid drawing skills and interesting projects. Transfer your creative ideas from 2-D drawings into 3-D works of art in this weeklong workshop. Learn the basics of 3-dimensional clay sculpture through coil, slab, and carving. We'll put our drawing skills to work as we design creative designs to paint on our hand-made one-of-a-kind sculptures. Tuition includes glazing and firing fee. Clay work fired, glazed, fired again, and available for pick up in early-mid August.

Suggested Prerequisite: Clay Handbuilding (Session 3) is suggested and required for students who want to work on the wheel every single day this week. Any students not attending Session 3 will learn handbuilding on M, T, W and then work on the wheel Th & F. Clay work fired twice and available for pick up in early October.

This camp gives children the opportunity to learn basic rhythms on a variety of percussion instruments. Explore like and different sounds in pairs, small groups, and as a class. Learn basic skills of musicianship, including tempo, volume, and counting measures. Drumming together teaches students to listen to each other, play cooperatively, and have fun! Instruments provided, but students may bring their own, if they wish.

For students who have already taken the Intro to Drumming class, or other drum lessons. We’ll take our percussive techniques one step further by creating an ensemble. Each student will learn specific parts on instruments such as congas, bongos, shaker, and bell. Together we’ll recreate wonderful African influenced rhythms like the Mambo, Rumba, and Samba.
