School year POLICIES

EMERGENCY PERMISSION
I give permission to Fine Art Starts and Staff to make any emergency (i.e.: first aid, disaster evacuation) measures judged necessary for the care and protection of me and/or my child while participating in Fine Art Starts’ program.  In cases of a serious medical emergency, I understand that I/my child will be transported at my expense to the closest hospital by the local emergency unit for treatment if the local emergency resource (police, rescue squad) deem it necessary.  I agree to hold Fine Art Starts, its employees, contractors and volunteers harmless in the event of any medical and/or emergency situation.  I release all liability from Fine Art Starts and I personally assume any and all risk associated with the program.  I understand that in rare medical situations, Fine Art Starts and Staff may contact the local emergency resource before the parent, child’s physician and/or other adult acting on the parent’s behalf.

Refund/Credit and Cancellation Policy for SCHOOL YEAR Long Classes (September through June)
If you’ve registered and prepaid any amount for upcoming classes, and you cancel your registration, you'll receive your choice of refund or credit as follows:
REFUND OPTION
Your account will be charged the $50 non-refundable Registration Fee + .08% of the amount being refunded.
If you choose a refund rather than to leave your paid amount as credit on your account, you will be charged .08% merchant service fees our non-profit organization pays for families during the registration process.  Your refund may take 7-10 business days to be credited onto your original payment method.
CREDIT OPTION
$30 cancel fee if the amount you pre-paid is left as credit on your account.
The amount you already paid will be left on your account and must be used within 1 year of your cancel date.  It can be used towards after school classes or summer ART Camps.  After 1 year of inactivity, it is considered donated.  Please contact us if you don’t use the funds and would like donation letter to use for tax-deductible purposes.

Refund and Cancellation Policy for SINGLE SESSION After-School programs
If you’ve registered for a single session only (i.e.: fall, winter/spring), and not for the whole school year, with more than 1 week written/emailed notice, tuition (minus the $20 Registration Fee per student) is refundable or left on your account as a credit to use for up to 1 year from the cancel date. With 1 week or less notice from the start date, half the amount paid is refundable (minus the $20 Registration Fee per student), or the full amount transferrable as credit on your account to use up to 1 year from the cancel date.  After 1 year of inactivity, it is considered donated.  Please contact us if you don’t use the funds and would like donation letter to use for tax-deductible purposes.  No refunds once classes begin since materials have been purchased, Instructor contracts are finalized, and there are debit/credit card fees we incur related to the registration system.

Transfer / Downgrading Policy and Fee
With more than 2 weeks notice, if you transfer your student from a full school year program into a single session program, there is a fee of .08% of the refund charged as the non-profit has already paid the merchant service fee when the class was initially paid for.
TRANSFER FEE
$5 fee will apply when our staff transfers a student to a different day/time.  You're welcome and able to do this yourself on your Active account with no fees.

LATE PICK-UP POLICY
We have a strict pick-up policy.  There is a late fee (as outlined in the orientation information you received before your class began) when your student is picked up late.  It will be auto-charged to your Active account.  We understand traffic is beyond your control, but our staff is on the clock until all students are picked up, and late charges will apply.

ARTWORK PICK-UP POLICY
All artwork must be picked-up no later than 3 weeks from your class or camp. Fine Art Starts is not responsible or obligated to keep or store artwork left longer than 3 weeks. Any work left for more than 3 weeks will become property of Fine Art Starts.

ONLINE ART PORTFOLIO PERMISSION
During the school-year classes, Fine Art Starts may create student art portfolios on Artsonia.com.  I give my permission for FAS to create a digital portfolio of my child's art and email me the link to activate the account.  To protect identities, only students’ first names are used.  Last name and personal info are never divulged.

STUDENT READINESS POLICY
We want our students to want to be at ART class. If their behavior demonstrates otherwise and/or they’re not ready for our program in a way that takes away from their own experience or the positive experience of others, we'll let you know and assess the situation on a case-by-case basis to determine if your student can continue.  If your student demonstrates he/she is not ready, prepared or willing to follow directions and/or continues to disrupt the learning for the class, then your registration will be cancelled without refund.
If your student is headed to kindergarten this fall, is toileting independently, and able to follow directions, then they're likely ready. Our program requires students are capable of following directions, working collaboratively and sometimes semi-independently.

I AGREE
I have fully read, understand and agree to all Fine Art Starts’ policies, above. I certify that all my information is complete and true.  (Checking the box on your paper registration or online registration program confirms you have read and agree to all of the above).
