Types of Ceramic Studio Classes
All of our classes are semi-private, custom bookings can be made for private sessions. Enjoy classes with more one-on-one time with your instructor in our small space.

- Wheel Curious ($74) - This is an entry-level single-session class for beginners or for those who threw on the wheel years ago and need a refresher. This is a 2-hour class. Throw as many as you can in this session, and pick your favorite for us to fire and glaze in the color of your choice from our studio palette. Take this class as many times as you like, but if you'd like to save $$ for multiple sessions, consider our Let's Throw class! This class is a pre-requisite to our Open Studio sessions on the wheel.
- Let's Throw! ($248) - This 4-week course was created for people who'd like to delve into pottery further. Each of the four 2.5-hour classes will cover a deepening aspect of learning about the wheel, centering, creating various shapes, and glazing. Advanced students may have time for trimming and adding surface decoration techniques to greenware. We are currently booking this class as a custom class, for two to four people. This class requires a minimum of three people to run, and is currently by custom time-slot only, email [email protected] to get started.
- Intro to Wheel ($395) - Best Hourly Rate! This is an 8-week course that will give you enough time to really practice throwing on the wheel and start developing your skills. Your instructor will start with demonstrations on straight-sided cylinders, and then branch out into bowls and other forms that the class expresses interest in. (Bring your ideas and questions!) We'll also have time to go over trimming, and surface decoration techniques. This class requires a minimum of three people registered to run, and is currently by custom time-slot only, email [email protected] to get started.
- Handbuilding & Sculpting (Starting at $48 per person) - We offer a range of non-wheel classes during our handbuilding and sculpting workshops. Sign up for our monthly scheduled class, or to book a custom session for 2 or more people, email [email protected].
Don't see a class that works with your schedule? Email [email protected] to see if we might have an instructor who can make some scheduling magic happen for you! For clay classes, we require a minimum of 2 people to book a custom class date, and 3 people to run at a lower rate.

Open Studio 2-hour single session, $25+

Required pre-requisite: Wheel Curious, or at least one session of our Let's Throw or Intro to Wheel classes.
Come to the studio to throw on your own without teacher or instruction. Use our wheel, tools, and our clay if you choose! The base price of $25 gets you access to the studio for the session and one wheel station. You can choose to use our clay (+$5 per session), and if you want to have any pieces you create fired, you can pay on-site using our firing slips. Have you taken a wheel class in the Portland area in the last 12 months? It might qualify as your required pre-requisite. Family Sculpt Workshops

Time to make functional fridge art! Our instructor Emma will guide students through sculpting tiny versions of your favorite things!
Your Instructor will show you how to create details on a small scale with clay! You'll shape and glaze your artwork. We'll carefully dry and fire your pieces, attach magnets, and let you know when they're ready for pickup. Make these to decorate your own home, or give as gifts to friends and family. Each student can create up to four magnets, up to two inches in any direction.
All magnets will be fired and ready for pick up at our studio 4-6 weeks after class, and must be picked up within 1 month of receiving your "Ready for Pickup" email.
Clay, glazing and firing cost included.
$55 per person, per session.
Remember to register all people attending with you, including children. This is a family class, you can register as adults only, but children must have an adult registered with them. If you'd like to schedule a class where you can drop-off children for a two-hour session, contact us to make something custom just for you.

Our classes are unlike any other clay studio because of these key factors:
- Semi-private instruction (4 people or less per pottery wheel class)!!
- 1-on-1 guidance with positive, top-notch instructors who love clay and have years of combined teaching experience.
- All materials are included. Just show up!
- Schedule-friendly! Options to come back and glaze, continue practicing when you are able, or dive in with intent with classes that are multiple weeks long.
- Multi-generational classes offer a memorable bonding experience for friends, couples, families and groups.
Picking up your finished pieces
Your pieces go through many steps after you leave the studio. We try our very best to deliver finished pieces that look the way you last saw them, just a little smaller and shinier, but due to the often unpredictable and unforgiving nature of ceramics, things can happen. We cannot guarantee any pieces to make it through the drying, firing, glazing, and second firing. We tell our students not to fall in love with their pieces until they're safely at home with you. The whole process of drying, firing, glazing, and a second firing can take up to six weeks. You'll receive an email from us when they're ready for pickup. You'll have one month to pick up your finished artwork once it's ready. After that, we cannot hold unclaimed pieces.
